About two weeks ago, a society in my university organized a musical concert to raise fund for charity. My gosh... you should see how desperate... oops... I mean enthusiastic this girl was trying to sell the tickets.
I was happily sitting in the lecture theatre when I unintentionally overheard this conversation. Sorry... I wasn't being impolite! I can't help it! Because she was talking too LOUDLY! I was then left with no choice but to eye-witness her great persuading skills.
(purple indicating what was going through my mind at that moment)
She: So are you buying the ticket?
Vivian: Ermmm.. I don't think so.
She: Why?
Vivian: (we had a test coming up on the following week) I need to study.
She: (raised her voice) NO VIVIAN! DON'T USE STUDY AS AN EXCUSE FOR CHARITY!
Me: What the hell?? Great persuading skills she has!
Vivian: Why are you picking on me?
She: I am not picking on you.
Me: Geez... not you then who is?
Vivian: What if I have work?
She: Change your shift!
Vivian: (speechless)
She: You buy the ticket but you can don't attend the concert.
Me: Wahhhhh.. then why don't you buy all the tickets yourself and attend as one person?
In the end, the poor Vivian could not fight back and bought the ticket! The girl felt so satisfied after selling one ticket, she went around trying to find another waterfish.
She: Would you like to attend the concert this Friday?
Guy: Oh... let me see the ticket.
She: (wah... she thought she gonna make another sale) Okay... so are u coming?
Guy: Nah... I don't think so.
She: (and again...) THIS IS AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SOCIETY EVENT. YOU AS AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SHOULD ATTEND!
Me: I don't see you attending university events like the upcoming ball?
Guy: Ermmmm....
She: So?
Guy: I don't think I am interested.
Phew... thank god this guy did not become a waterfish. She thought her tactic could work on everyone else. Too bad... she FAILED miserably. =P I wondered where did she learn her persuading skills from? She was not even persuading. She was more like demanding. If I was her friend, I would definitely have told her off. On second thought, if I was her friend, I would probably be attending without even her asking. Gladly, she wasn't my friend!
Let me teach her some persuading skills lar... probably works better on the guys than her way! This is how I would do it.
Me: Hey... are you guys interested in the concert?
Guy: Hmmm... I don't think so.
Me: Awwwwww... why not?
Guy: I might be busy.
Me: Awwww... It would be fun! COME LAR!!! COME LARRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
Guy: Hmmmm....
Me: COME LARRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! OKAY?? OK!!!
Guy: (nothing he can do but to buy the ticket!)
You see... what is so difficult? Don't even need to raise your voice or spend more than five minutes!
waterfish: someone who you can easily take advantage of.
P/S: name has been changed.

I remember...

I remember the first day I saw you.
I remember the 'boob-shot' you gave me when we tried out the water balloon game.
I remember the night we cut coupons together.
I remember the breakfast we had alone together.
I remember the note I gave you with the wrong spelling of your name.
I remember the times you teased me while we were folding boxes.
I remember the messages we sent to each other while you were having meeting.
I remember the first glass of barley you bought for me.
I remember the first MSN chat session with you.
I remember the way your tongue were tied when I called you.
I remember the time we spent our Chinese New Year's Eve chatting on MSN.
I remember the first poem you wrote to me.
I remember the emails we wrote to each other that got longer each time.
I remember the tipsy voice of yours.
I remember the weekly phone calls that became daily phone calls.
I remember the morning calls you gave me.
I remember the way you motivated me for exam.
I remember the way you wiped my hair that was stained with mushroom soup.
I remember the way you held my hand for the first time.
I remember the 'look' of yours that I love when I gave you a peck.
I remember the awkward moment when we met my housemate's parents.
I remember the silly game of spotting 'where is the building?' we played in Sky Bar.
I remember the way you tried to hide the first bouquet of flowers you bought for me.
I remember the lunches we had together during your lunch hour.
I remember the amount of nicknames I gave you.
I remember the first and only movie we watched together.
I remember the way you brush my hair.
I remember the silly pictures we posed for.
I remember the birthday present you bought for me.
I remember the lame jokes we told each other.
I remember the way you comforted me by saying "You still have a roof over your head!"
And today,
I remember the day that was exactly three months ago.

My new found love...
I am so deeply in love... Ahhhhh.....
NOOOOOOOO!!!! Is not a new man! I fell in love with my........... my new pair of jeans... Okay... Don't need to slap your forehead so hard and give me the 'swt' sign.
Sigh... whose fault was it?? It was all Melbourne Central's fault. Why did they have VIP sale? Freaking VIP sale last night made me forgo my favourite lectures notes and went shopping (as if I touched my lecture notes... =P)! Freaking VIP sale last night made me spent money!
The VIP sale started at 5pm and ended about 9pm. Nope, I did not rush down to the city before 5pm. I took a tram down at about 7pm and I only had one thing in my mind. Get a new pair of jeans.
As soon as I arrived, I made my way directly to the ONLY shop I intended to visit (made a slight pit stop at Kookai and found out the dress I bought is on 40% discount!). Bardot. Whoah... the shop was packed with people. I just simply grabbed a few jeans from the shelf and headed to the changing room
. Whoah again... there were like 10 people queuing! I stood there all alone. I felt I look quite silly because everyone else within my vicinity was talking to someone else! At last, after fifteen minutes it was my turn! I took three size 6 jeans and was praying hard I could fit in them! If it was last year, they will definitely be too loose for me. Yes... I am petite! Don't need to remind me again! Slided into the first jeans I took. Yay! I could fit in it! I have been putting on weight since last year. This is a good sign for me!
I tried all three and wanted to try a few more other styles and colours. The salesgirl was nice enough to grab a couple of pairs for me. Phew... thank God I did not have to go out to grab other styles myself and queue up all over again! Imagine how troublesome would that be! The salesgirl recommended me another two pair of jeans. Out of the total of 5 pairs of jeans I tried, I was choosing between three jeans. I chose the most expensive pair! On my way out to pay for the jeans, I met a friend who happened to be shopping there as well. Had a short conversation with her and it went like this...
Me: Eh... what a coincidence?
She: Yeah... are you getting anything?
Me: Just a pair of jeans. Shopping with friends?
She: Yup... you?
Me: Just walking by myself.
She: Wahhhh.... why so SAD one? Didn't call anyone else?
Me: (geez... that's a very nice thing to say...)
I did not shop with anyone else not because I am sad okay! My housemate had stuff to do and I intended for a short shopping trip. What is wrong with shopping alone anyway?? At least I can walk to any shop that I wanted not needing to tolerate other people's needs!
All jeans were on 25% discount. So I spent a total of $112.46 after discount. To be honest, this pair of jeans is not exactly a very cheap jeans for me. I wouldn't buy a RM300 jeans back home. But what to do? Love is blind. And I got blind sided by Bardot!
I went home as a happy girl!
I intend to add these to my collection as well:-
