Kenko Fish Spa

On a stressful Sunday afternoon, after my attempt of driving Bean's manual car- it was utterly embarrassing when I hit the main road. I was driving at 30km/h. The poor car behind me had to tagged along for five minutes not including the time the car died. Most of the time I was screaming because I had no idea what to do. Thank god for the invention of automatic car. Making driving a more confident event. Both Bean and I headed for a little spa treatment with some fishes chewing off our feet.

We went to the Mid Valley branch and coincidentally they were having some Christmas package. We chose the Package B which consists of fish spa treatment, foot reflexology and shoulder massage. All came up to the price of RM69/person.

Kenko Fish Spa Worker: So, you guys took the Package B right?
Bean: Yah.. The Santa Claus Package!
Me: BABY! Stop calling it the Santa Claus Package! Is called PACKAGE B!!!

Somehow Bean enjoyed calling it the Santa Claus package! He refused to call it Package B! Probably he can't wait for the festive season!

The place looked quite high class actually. At first, they required us to wash out feet with some enzyme to kill the bacterias. Then with the assess card, we scanned and then proceed to the few pools/ponds/ watever you wanna name it as. There were one pond with small fishes, two ponds with medium size fishes and two ponds with large size fishes. Oh... another pond with mix sizes of fishes.

At first, we damn smart, we went to the wrong pond! We went to the large size fishes pond. For the first experience, we were terrified because those large fishes were furious! They came and bit us in chunks! I could feel their teeth! Ugh... we jumped off the pond straight away and headed to the small fishes one. Even with the small fishes, it took us quite some time in getting used to the feeling of the fishes biting us.

Sizes of the fish relative to each other...

To make our money worth while, we tried all three types of fishes. Anyway, it was just matter of time to get used to the feeling the fishes biting us.

Result after 30 minutes of the fish spa treatment: the feet did actually get much smoother. But I came back with few fish bites scar. No biggie about it.

I was pretty surprised with the foot reflexology and shoulder massage. The people that were performing the massage on us were very professional. So was the place. No people talking loudly or them talking to us. Just pure silence with soothing music played in the background. Perfect. I seriously hate those services where they kept interrupting with conversations or backgrounds with kids running around making noises. I paid for some relaxing moments! Not for conversations! Geez...

When we got home, we told my parents that we went for the fish spa.

Parents: How much is it?
Us: Ermmm.. RM38 for 30 minutes fish spa treatment!
Parents: WHATTTT? So expensive! I could buy the fishes, RM2.00 for one!
Us: (char dou feeling) Okay.
Parents: And cheh... the fishes are from CHINA!
