How Does An Erection Occur?

Since I am revising about erection (yes... the PENIS!), I might as well post it up here in case some of you might be curious to know how a penis actually does it job!

  1. The penis basically has arteries and veins: corpora cavernosa, corpus spongiousum and tunica albuginea.
  2. Corpora cavernosa runs the length of the penis.
  3. Erection begins when the sensory and mental stimulation
  4. The smooth muscles of corpora cavernosa and corpus spongiosum relax allowing excess blood to fill in through the arteries while drainage of the blood through the veins are blocked.
  5. The blood creates pressure in the corpora cavernosa, making the penis expand.
  6. The tunica albuginea will trap the blood thereby sustaining erection.
  7. Erection is reversed when muscles in the penis contract to stop inflow of blood and open outflow channels.
Gosh... didn't know it is so complicated.

It is not such a dickhead afterall...
